Surprised this is getting no love from Cleveland fans. Lauer is good. Rosario is expendable, especially for a guy that slots in as a #3. Pushes Plesac out of the rotation (if he isn’t already). Gimenez moves to SS (where he belongs!), and then I would be willing to give Freeman a full time job at 2B. At some point the young MIF’ers need to get a real tryout. Rosario has no future in Cleveland anyway (sorry, I won’t go into a rant about him again!).
I agree with everything you stated and I doubt those are Cleveland fans giving it downvotes. Probably my wonderful fanbase around here that I rip into for proposing asinine, lopsided deals involving the Guardians. I try very hard to consider what the other teams need, they don’t do the same.
What needs to happen around here is a program change that doesn’t allow us to vote for any other team than our declared favorite or when we click on the votes it shows a list of names.
If the Brewers don’t trade Burnes or Woodruff, Lauer might be the pitcher that is traded. Schmitt fits the profile for a future 3B, and the Brewers have very little depth in the minors for that position. Schmitt would play at AAA this year and if having a good year, he would be a possible call-up if needed. Newly acquired Brian Anderson will be a free agent next year. If the Brewers’ front office is high on Schmitt’s potential, I think the Brewers might say yes. So BigBat, you did match a Brewers need.
I don’t take the up-and-down votes too seriously. I like the comments because then I know the reasoning behind their agreement or disagreement regarding the trade. I may agree or disagree with the comment, but I understand their reasoning. Well, sometimes I don’t understand the reasoning, but at least they have an opinion. 🙂
Thanks Spikes. I too thought Schmidt would be a good fit for the Brewers. I have Cleveland taking a 3.3M hit in this deal because I don’t think Amed is worth the 10.8 listed here. He’s a solid, average player with a lot of speed and he’s in the final year of arbitration.
The Brewers are going to trade at least 1 of Burnes, Woodruff and Lauer. They might have to trade Adames as well so we’ll see what happens.
I don’t take the votes too seriously either. It’s frustrating at times because I don’t know if the votes are actually from fans of any of these clubs. I really do look to fill the needs of all the teams I involve in my proposals.
