The lack of pitching coming back to Milwaukee would kill this deal immediately even if it wasn’t the Cardinals. The Brewers are not going to make their chief rivals better. Milwaukee has three of their own rookie OFs they want to look at so they wouldn’t want Carelson. Liberatore would have to show he can pitch in the big leagues or get sent down. . He is nowhere near enough pitching for the Brewers. Gorman could be great for years, but not enough for Burnes.
