I think Pirates favor getting Miller/Pepiot but Dodgers favor giving up Gonsolin/Bruns

Why would LA trade one of their All Stars and a non top prospect? Pittsburgh specifically said that they want top prospects, preferably headlined by pitching. My proposal gives Pittsburgh exactly what they are looking for.

Plus Gonsolin is a year older than Reynolds and only has one more year of control than Reynolds. I don’t think that is the profile of the headliner in the trade the Pirates would want.

Yes which is why I said Pirates would favor Miller/Pepiot.

Gonsolin is expendable because of their depth of starters. He’s already starting the year on the IL and Dodgers are deciding on Pepiot or Grove to slot in that 5th spot. That still leaves Andre Jackson as an emergency back up and Miller/Stone waiting to be called up.

I don’t think giving up Gonsolin for Reynolds is worth it but it makes sense if Dodgers go that way.
