Brewers say no very quickly. The lack of pitching from the Yankees kills the deal right away. The Brewers would want MLB ready pitching in any Burnes trade. The Yankees are not a good fit with Milwaukee for Burnes. Fitts is too far away to be of any help. Thorpe is just starting his career and no help at all. Milwaukee doesn’t want Torres and his contract. The last thing the Brewers need is another prospect OF (Pereira). Peraza would be a start, but the rest of the package is far too weak for Milwaukee to even consider.
Agreed except for the OF prospect bit. Are you the same guy who saod this in my trade proposal? Anyway, I’ll say now what I said then: milwaukee has several OF prospects reaching, or about to reach the majors. That means, if they want OF to continue to be a position of strength, they will need to replenish at a lower level.
Having said that, yes… the brewers would likely want a young SP near ML-ready as well.
