    Down vote for Oakland.

I’d be willing to take a chance on Colby White but Peters looks like a 4th OF, so where’s the upside for the A’s?

    • DJ dajuba

The upside is in the faith that White becomes all he can be, one of the most dominant relief prospects in baseball and that Peters becomes the strong side platoon as a LH OF and that Jackson becomes just another RHRP after a good year in ‘23.

      • Nathan Thompson

Relief arms are notoriously persnickety so why would I believe that Jackson is going to JAG yet White is going to be great?

Jackson should be made available but White looks better as the +1 than the headliner.

        • DJ dajuba

To get Peters, that’s funny I feel as though Peters is the headliner and White is the +1 as the injured player with tremendous upside.

          • Nathan Thompson

Peters is very Meh. What I’m reading is the upside of a platoon COF… I’m not under the illusion that Jackson is super special but the A’s have needs and Peters fills none of them.

Oakland’s FO has completely botched the teardown/rebuild. They can’t use their few remaining trade chips to acquire players with limited upside at positions that already have internal candidates.

          • DJ dajuba

Ok then, specifically, what position(s) do you feel the A’s should be looking for? Because right now I only see it as Pitching and a Bat.

It’s been hit/miss on baseball getting my free time.

The deal you linked is betting on helium. Let’s give them a few weeks to see how things go.

As for Oakland’s needs… “Pitching, Pitching, SS, Pitching, 3B, Pitching”.
