Cleveland needs right-handed hitting power badly so two more left-handed hitters make absolutely no sense for the Guardians. Cleveland declines the offer.

No, but I have followed Cleveland baseball since 1965 so I believe that I understand the way that they do business and their needs. Edman does not fill a need as middle infield is also not a need and Edman has most of his experience in the middle infield. Carlson is not a power bat, is always hurt, and nothing exciting.

Cleveland for sure says no… I like Donovan and wanted to trade for him before last season even started, but no way would Cleveland take him as a main piece…

  3. Big Bat

Herrera is the only possible useful piece in this deal and that is far from a guarantee. Your beloved Cardinals aren’t getting Bieber without giving up Graceffo and/or Liberatore and even then it’s very likely that either of the Dodgers or Orioles outbid anything the Cardinals put on the table. You should shift the discussion to Quantrill or Civale. You should also keep in mind that Cleveland needs to thin out the MIF crowd they already have so taking on 2 more doesn’t work at all.

Quantrill and Civale are just more middle to back end rotation guys. They’re of no use to STL.

CLE is intriguing. They’re not going to extend Bieber with the amount of young, cheap, controllable good arms they have. They also want guys back with multiple years of control so Tyler O’Neill doesn’t help much. Carlson and Edman are switch hitters and under control so that’s a possibility.

      They need catching, too.

Definitely expect Bieber to be moved by this years trade deadline.
