No need to trade for Bieber at 50 when you can just wait until the deadline and trade for him at under 40, and at that time Duran and Houck alone will most likely be an overpay. Plus, Houck has the real probability of out performing Bieber over the next 4 years, so….pass.

You’re probably wrong like usual. It’s more likely that Houck and his terrible pitching continue and what little value he has continues to tank. The only one here that should be in a hurry to get value out of their SP before his value plummets is Boston.

Like I said earlier. Duran outside of that crappy Fenway Park is a steamy pile. He’s a mirage and Boston is stuck with him because every team in the league already knows what Duran is and isn’t.

Who is Paulino? Nevermind. He’s in Boston’s system so he’s probably not very much.

Red Sox fans are very happy with the 1.1 WAR on the season for Duran. I agree with you though that Houck’s long term value is questionable. Bieber has very poor Statcast numbers on the season. His offspeed pitches have lost their ability to induce any chase. I like him though and think he’s a gamer. I think he’s definitely going to be dealt and this offer is more than fair.

Avocado, it is not a fair offer if it doesn’t address the needs of both teams. This offer does not give what the Guardians need and want if they decide to trade Bieber. It is as simple as that.

Not even in the realm of “fair” and certainly not the kind of package Cleveland will demand in return.

Cleveland needs a right-handed hitting power bat. When Duran becomes that we can talk. Until then, Guardians say no.
