On November 20, 2023, the New York Mets will trade Brett Baty, minor-league infielder Luisangel Acuna, minor-league catcher Kevin Parada, minor-league outfielder Alex Ramirez, minor-league pitcher Blade Tidwell, and cash considerations to the Houston Astros in exchange for Yordan Alvarez and Framber Valdez.
Soon thereafter, Billy Eppler will call the league for a Do-Over, the reason being that Alvarez and Valdez are too old for the Mets vision moving forward. They will instead pivot to trading Daniel Vogelbach and Tomas Nido in a three team trade with the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners for Jackson Holliday and Julio Rodriguez. Daniel Vogelbach will go on to break Cal Ripkens iron man record while manning shortstop for the Orioles. Tomas Nido will be dfa’d by the Mariners and go on to star in a woke remake of Sleepless in Seattle co-starring Kevin Durant. The Mets will later repurpose their assets to build a bigger jumbotron at their training facility in Kazakhstan.
