    I don’t see why the Red Sox would do this. They have a crowded middle infield. If they were to trade Verdugo it would be for pitching

    Crowded, maybe so, quality…debatable. I’ll take Story and Hoerner up the middle over any combination of Story/Urias/Reyes for the next 2 years while they wait on Mayer and the rest of the middle infielders in AAA or AA

      The only way I could see the Cubs breaking up their sterling MIF, would be if Shaw (this year’s #1, already up in AA) makes such a push to play, and cannot handle 3B…but that is likely where he will be. The Red Sox should be like the Cubs and seeing how much it will require to pry Alonso’s last year away from NY.
