Brewers just chuckle and say no thanks. Milwaukee wouldn’t even want any of the 4 players. They don’t want any more OFs. They don’t want another catcher. Bell way too expensive.

Maybe. If you are a Brewers fan, you might know their management better than I do, but I think that they would take a chance on Bell, Garcia, and Soler’s short term money to get rid of Yelich’s long-term money and clear payroll to be able to extend Adames, Burnes, and Woodruff long-term.

I am sure that if the Yankees agree to convert his 2029 mutual option to a player option, Yelich will approve this trade. The Marlins and/or the Yankees might have to guarantee Stanton’s 2028 option year for him to approve this trade as well. Not sure if any of the other players have NTCs in their contracts.

Yankees and Marlins just laugh and hang up when the Brewers call with this offer.

I disagree with both you and jmont1. I believe that this is a good deal for all 3 teams. The Brewers clear long-term payroll to extend Adames, Burnes, and Woodruff. The Yankees replace a right-handed all-or-nothing occasional outfielder with a left-handed regular outfielder who makes much more contact, and the Marlins get much needed offense to match their spectacular pitching.

It also makes sense for the Marlins to bring back Stanton, because they are already going to be paying him $30MM in 2026, 2027, and 2028. Between that and dumping Bell’s, Garcia’s, and Soler’s contracts and replacing Bell with the far more affordable Bauers, it is a wash for them financially

The big question mark in this deal is Alcantara. If he needs TJS, the Yankees can better afford to throw away $9MM in 2024 and hope that he comes back in 2025 at something approximating the pitcher that he was. With all of the young and cheap pitching that the Marlins have, they are better off saving their very limited financial resources on giving them and Torres long-term extensions.

Stanton does nothing for the marlins in this trade . Yelich would be better .
Alcantara would not go any to anyone in trade like this .
unless it to the Brewers. without yankees giving miami cash also and pitching.
