Writer for Royalsreview.com, someone suggested a trade that was super lopsided for the Padres. This was my modified trade proposal. May need a few million kicked in from the Royals, or possibly a kicker (AAAA filler, low-A lotto ticket). Padres may need to kick in a bit of money to cover Myers contract in future seasons, or not… IDK. It’s just a rough outline.

Yeah, I saw the original post at RR and agree it was quite lopsided. This one looks much more realistic.

This trade is OK except I can’t see the Padres trading Urias and Edwards in the same deal, one or the other but not both.
Is it worth trading that much young talent to save 6 million net and get Merrifields age 31-33 seasons for the Padres?
If I’m AJ Preller I’m saying no.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I think acquiring Merrifield is a Win Now move, and I don’t know if I’d be ready to do that if I was Preller.
