    This is silly. Does anyone really think the Rockies would give up Arenado for just Kingery and Medina? This is a fun site, but not realistic at all.

      The short answer is that Arenado is an amazing player, but he is getting paid top dollar, so there’s not much surplus; plus there’s the risk of the two-year opt-out. All of that matters.

      More realistically, the contract and the opt-out will be renegotiated, with the Rockies likely kicking in some money to improve the return.
