Oakland has no reason to trade Matt Chapman and I can not see how the Braves can afford to trade Max Fried.
Remember Josh Donaldson
Oakland is a solid playoff contender. They are not trading Matt Chapman who is still controllable for 4 years and still is very cheap this current year.
I would caution not to use the Donaldson trade as a blueprint. The circumstances were much different — that 2014 A’s team was falling apart at the seams, and Beane knew it was time to rebuild. That is not the case now.
