Tampa Bay is not the type of team to trade for short term, high priced players like Rizzo. Perhaps something smaller with Contreras to Tampa for pieces. Tampa already has several 1B options.

You’re right, of course, about the Rays trading habits. But they are ready to contend. They have a lot of volume. Choi and Lowe at first? Rizzo is a Fla. native. All the players they are giving up in my trade are expendable, except maybe Chirinos. Rizzo is cheap by MLB slugger salary standards. They might take the gamble. Plus they get Contreras.
