  1. Wrong Verb

Sox are in the market for a starter. Of the Reds starters, Disco makes the most sense to trade. He’s going to be a FA at the end of the year, and is behind Gray, Bauer, and Castillo in the rotation. And he can be replaced by Mahle. In return, the Reds get a former top pick who’s got the stuff but has struggled to get it together in his pro career. A new start and some strong Driveline influence might be what he needs to get back on track.

As a Red Sox fan, I like your selection of Disco. Groome is the wrong guy because the Red Sox have so few prospect starting pitchers. Chatham or Barnes are better selections. Chatham is 4.9 and Barnes is 8.8. Barnes would get more prospects in exchange. The Red Sox’s pitching is just awful, so Chaim needs to get something.

Reds, despite the start, are trying to compete this year.
In another week, they might make this trade.
Disco, just came of the IL (hard to say IL, after saying DL for ever)
