This trade idea came up when someone asked on a Grant Brisbee tweet, “What would the Giants have” in regards to asking if the Giants should target Lindor.

I mentioned Yastrzemski. Now, for what it’s worth, I don’t think Farhan Zaidi is remotely interested in moving Yaz, and especially not for 1 year of Lindor. But he certainly fits what Cleveland would be looking for: a cheap, controllable OF.

The Indians would rightly be worried about Yaz as a regression candidate, but even with extreme regression, he’s still a 3-4 win player in 2021 (adjusted for 162 games, Yaz was worth 7.2 wins).

I think the Giants absolutely say “no”, but I’d be curious about the Indians.

If they have to include any cash, absolutely a no.

If it’s just Yaz for Lindor straight up, they’ll probably consider it.

The cash was simply to balance out the trade for the purpose of the simulator, it wouldn’t accept it otherwise.
