This is a horrible trade for the Brewers. They give up one of the best relievers in baseball and a very promising pitcher for a guy who won’t even be playing until some time in May or June. Plus he likely won’t be anywhere close to his old self the entire year. Then he is a FA in 2022 and gone. No way in the world the Brewers would want to trade even Ashby for a rehabbing, one year rental.

I feel like if thats true Syndergaard wouldnt have a higher point value

      • John Bitzer

Keep in mind that trading for a full year of Syndergaard earns the acquiring team the right to QO him after the season. If he declines, they get the value of the draft pick. That adds to his value calculation.
