  1. Velasquez does not fill a need for the Indians and would not likely make their roster. Haseley is another platoon outfielder which does not fill the outfield need. I don’t see this package as very exciting in my opinion.

    • The Phillies tried Hoskins in the outfield when they signed Carlos Santana and he failed miserably. That is why the Phillies moved him back to first base and traded Santana. A team that values defense like the Indians would not play Hoskins in the outfield. The Indians have options to try at first base and fewer options for the outfield. As I stated before, outfield remains Cleveland’s biggest need.
