I like Smith a lot would love to see him in a Brewer uniform. However Baty and Peterson are highly questionable. Baty is rated highly by this site, but his horrible performance in rookie ball has created more questions than answers. With little else to go on, I would want to see much more to even consider him as the major piece in this trade. Peterson didn’t have any AAA experience to judge his future worth. He looked fairly decent in his brief time in the majors, but his control problems are a drawback. Now if you keep Baty and Peterson and add Davis ( I know this is just a dream), the Brewers would throw in Garcia for your OF. According to this site the Mets would still come out ahead of the deal.
