This deal could not make less sense for the Red Sox, as a team in dire need of pitching who then deals Nathan Eovaldi and only gets back future AAAA pitcher Brock Burke. Then thy also downgrade at SS from Bogaerts to Andrus and also lose a starting OF, all to acquire Nick Solak and an A ball catcher who cannot hit and save about $40 mill? Again, the Sox are not trying to cut costs this season.
The Red Sox are looking for pitching; they are not looking to help out the Braves.
