This is a Dombomski type of trade. Gutting the farm system. Why did the Phillies hire him? What are the Phillies doing this year pretending, contending, or hoping somewhere around .500? Honestly, I don’t see the Phillies serious trying to compete with the Braves. Even with JC back, the Phillies are only .500. I would save the JC money to get low cost veterans that could be flipped. Mitch Moreland+Kevin Pillar+Archie Bradley
Vazquez saves them a ton of money vs bringing back JTR. Then they’d have plenty of money to bring Didi back and maybe sign JBJ. Both CV and Benny have 2 years of control left. That lineup would look pretty good with those moves. C, Vazquez, 1b, Hoskins, 2b, Segeura, SS, Didi, 3b, Bohm, OF, McCutchen, JBJ, Harper and Benny. Maybe the could replace Aruaz with Brasier to add to the bullpen.
