This looks equitable, Florial is CF of future and Anduhar staring 3b if healthy, Losaigia good pitcher, not sure about Ford unless DH is retained.

    Would Yanks do this?

I feel like they would just because Adrian Houser could be another innings eater in the rotation. Considering how few innings were pitched in 2020, teams will Probably need 6 man rotations. This trade also helps the Yankees because they need to clear room on the roster to make room for Kluber & other acquisitions.

Is Flovial really a the CF of the future? For who? Trenton? The guy has spent more time in A ball than I spent in high school.

This basically comes down to Loaisiga for Houser. Loaisiga has controll problems that will play out much worse in Milwaukee. Houser hasn’t reached his potential either, but for now he’s better than Loaisiga for the Brewers. The rest are junk. Ford is a DH only in a league that looks like there will be no DH. Plus the Brewers have Vogelbach and Hiura already. No thanks. Andujar is no more than a lottery ticket right now. He’s a butcher with the glove at 3B and therefore useless to the Brewers. Florial hasn’t even played AA ball yet and stunk in A+ ball (.237/.297). The Brewers have OF prospects better than Florial in their system. No interest.

This trade would definitely help the Brewers acquire more depth. Loaisiga has nasty stuff and could help in the bullpen or even a spot starter. Ford had a great 2019 (in a small sample size) and still has potential to be a starter, and at worst a platoon mate. Andujar has been trying out lots of positions, (3B, 1B, OF) all of which are future needs for the Brewers. Florial still has lots of potential and would probably be an eventual replacement for Lorenzo Cain after the 2022 season.

But with 4 other teams effectively punting to NL Central in 2021, why should the Brewers also step back and regroup?

        • allotta memes

This move might help them contend. Say Andujar has his 2018 season all over again, then they have a great offense & rotation.

Say he doesn’t? He does not have a future surplus value of a mere $1.4 mill because he is expected to have a bunch more 27 HR, 2.8 fWAR seasons in him. So far, the only projector even assuming he gets any actual playing time is the always generous ZIPS, and they project him at 0.6 fWAR in 498 PA. For some reference on that, in 2019, Ben Gamel was worth 0.9 fWAR for the Brewers in 356 PA.

And here’s part one million of Yankees fans trying to trade junk for solid players

I’m a Brewers fan. Adrian Houser isn’t an amazing player, so you don’t need an incredible package to get him. This trade could possibly help adress the Brewers needs, giving them both a 1B and 3B.

How would this help the Brewers?? Ford is a DH who happens to own a 1B glove. They already have Vogelbach for that type position, therefore Ford is no help at all. There is a reason the Yankees have been trying Andujar in the OF. He makes Braun look like a gold glover at 3B. He’s an absolute butcher with the glove. Again, zero help. At least Houser has some potenial to help, unlike Ford or Andujar.
