Brewers: They add 2 guys that can plug into their lineup and improve their production against RHP. Moran can play 3B for the next 3 years while they continue to try and develop a homegrown 3B.

Frazier is the perfect piece to platoon with Garcia and spell Hiura at 2B. If the NL adopts the DH he can take the lions share of 2B reps with Hiura at DH.

Pirates: Erceg and Ray are 2 fliers on players that were once highly regarded, but has seen their prospect shine wear off. Ashby is a nice LHP prospect that profiles as a back end starter. Quero is the type of lottery ticket that could make this trade a home run for PIT. He is just 18, but has 2 way potential behind the plate.

I don’t think the Brewers would play Moran at 3B. His defensive stats at 3B are terrible. If the Brewers would consider this trade I think they would plan to put Moran at 1B or DH. Both Frazier and Moran have career .270’s batting average with only average power. A trade like this may happen after other possibilities have been exhausted from the Brewers point of view.
