Thanks for posting. I know that Davis has always hit well in Texas, so perhaps the Rangers are overpaying a little thinking the change of scenery to a better hitter’s park will help. This is also certainly a creative way for the A’s to get their shortstop.

Except the Andrus vesting option becomes a player option with full No Trade protection if he’s traded.

        Per Cots.

How much of the gap remains?

          • Sean Ricky-Bobby

texas gets the most valuable piece in Hiem hence they win

With that change, the A’s get -10.9, the Rangers get -8.2, so it’s a gap of 2.7. So close to fair, if slight overpay by the A’s.

So the A’s slightly overpaid to send a bad, 1 year deal to Texas in exchange for a bad, 3 year deal in return.

This is supposed to be a G-rated site so I’m going to go curse elsewhere.

            Thanks for the update.

Ugh! Trade value straight up is a wash, but A’s had to attach Heim, a perfectly capable backup catcher, to save Fisher some $$$$. I do not trust Allen as a full time backup.
Garcia was claimed off waivers only a couple months ago.

So the consensus is that Andrus’ 2023 option is not guaranteed, so we’ll go with this original version of the trade instead. Sorry all for the confusion.
