    This is an interesting idea. I think there’d have to be some roster shuffling to add Festa to the 40 man long enough to put him on the 60 Day IL.

      Roster transactions aren’t my strong suit so I could very well be wrong about this, but would Festa even need to be added to Oakland’s 40 man? He’s been on the major league roster before but has since been DFA’d. Is it because he has some amount of service time that he needs to be added to the acquiring team’s 40 man in a trade.

        You’re right, I misread Festa’s profile. He was DFA’d and then outrighted in Feb. 2020. He got an invite to ST and promptly blew out his elbow.

        So no, Festa would not need to be added to Oakland’s 40 man roster.
