Jays have no need for Akiyama, they already have 4 outfielders

Jays have a need for Akiyama; defense for Teoscar as a replacement. He would also get 400 at bats. I’m the Jays fan, you are not, you do not understand the makeup of the team. Akiyama would be utilized, especially if an injury occurs.

Truth is, this is too much to give up for Castillo. The Reds would be insane to say no to a big bat and an underrated pitching prospect in Kloffenstein. Kloff should be considered the 2nd best pitching prospect behind Woods-Richardson.

You seem to be forgetting the Jays actual best pitching prospect. Manoah.

        Dudes a beast.

As a Jays fan though I’m not a fan of this. This trade makes the team worse 4/5 days IMO. Jansen and Gurriel Jr remain Jays.

Building a deal based around Gurriel for Castillo isn’t crazy though. Deadline possibility based on where the Reds and Jays are at that point.
