Love Marte as a possibility for the Sox and I don’t see how they turn a trade down like this if he’s available, although it’d be ideal if someone in the system can improve and replace the value that Heuer brings in this trade.

This trade is essentially Ketel Marte for Nick Madrigal + a bunch of lottery tickets. A secondary piece like Garrett Crochet would likely be required (replace him with Luis Gonzalez), and even then, are the D’Backs one of the many teams who didn’t buy into Crochet?

I’m not sure the White Sox really have a lot to trade with at this juncture. Honestly. And I don’t think the D’Backs have any incentive to take a bunch of gambles on trading away one of the best young players they’ve had in years.

They could get a better return from 6-8 other teams.
