The values line up but as a Sox fan I don’t see Burger and Sheets being sent for a one year rental with the way both are hitting right now

Very true. My concern however is come next year, or even in a couple of weeks, when the rest of the roster is off the injured list, where do they play? Moncada and Jimenez are under control until at least 2024, Abreu until 2022, and Vaughn and Madrigal are still on rookie contracts until 2027. Both Burger and Sheets have 3 options remaining but what good would it do for them to spend the nest 2-3 years in the minors waiting for an injury to happen, especially when they are both over 25 years old already. They may be playing well now, but could that value be better served to fill an area of immediate need?
