The “must trade Sanchez” sentiment has quieted down after he was benched earlier in the year, but he’s hit .195/.253/.377 in August and September, good for a 71 wRC+. I don’t know if Contreras is an upgrade, but he’s at least not Gary Sanchez, and Conteras rates as a much better framer. Torres’ time looks over in NY. Benched for not hustling, the day after getting moved off SS. The Cubs look like a good landing spot, as many in the org likely still know him from his time there as a teenage superstar, and there’s no pressure to win on the Northside in 2022. Looking at statcast, he should never play SS again, and the Cubs have openings all over. Voit is an excellent buy low candidate for the Cubs, and hope he hits like 2020 before the trade deadline rolls around. The Yankees get a few decent relievers with lot’s of team control.
