    If the A’s are really trying to restock the farm *and* reduce payroll, they’re not going to put their worst contract and best trade piece in one deal (thereby reducing the return).

      If it meant getting Olson back, absolutely. Outside of that, I doubt a reunion is that important to either side. Andrus doesn’t have a realistic chance at starting in Texas assuming we do get one of the shortstops this off-season. Andrus loved Texas and it would be good fan-service but I only see it happening if it meant Texas was seeing an Olson/Chapman coming back.

        But that highlights the problem. Andrus waived his 10-5 rights to play SS for a contender… let’s just say Texas has something to prove in regards to being a contender and if they’re shopping for a big name SS then Andrus ends up where?

        I’d rather they didn’t attach a bad contract to a viable trade asset but that might end up happening; Piscotty is the underwater contract that Oakland can move without player input.
