Pretty good deal, overall.. perhaps some adjustments and/or additions from both sides.. but a workable suggestion.. thanks for posting..

I don’t see the upside to add two more players that have to be added to the 40 man roster that would add little to the 2022 team.

Of course not knowing who or how many prospects/players are being added… doesn’t change that..

I know exactly who and how many would need to be added to the 40 man roster. Why must you always put down others? Canario had 170 at bats at AA and did poorly. He is on the 40 man with two options remaining. Vizcaino came from the Yankees, is on the 40 man with 2 options remaining. He produced little in 2020 for the Yankees and in 2021 pitched poorly in limited opportunities in the Cub’s system. Again adding two players that would have to be added to the 40 man that would provide little help to the 2022 team just like I stated.

I give this a thumbs down not because I’m against trading Gimenez, but because it does nothing to help Cleveland. If the Guardians and the Cubs make a deal it will probably include one or both of Happ and Contreras. I’d have to compare the values but a package of Gimenez, both Naylors, and maybe Morgan might be a good package for Chicago. Josh Naylor would give the Cubs a decent OF. Bo Naylor gives them a good C prospect since their best C prospect is having TJS. Finally, Morgan gives them a young, inexpensive, already pitching at the highest level SP. He’s a BOR SP that throws strikes and has a filthy change up. He can also eat some innings.
