I think this is the type of deal the A’s would relish. Bello could turn out to be the jewel of this deal. Duran and Turang are the kind of young guys the A’s usually look for in deals. The Red Sox get a great closer and a decent young prospect. The Brewers get the big power bat they need and a reliever who isn’t great, but could help somewhat.
Turang is a solid prospect but he’s another one of those guys who’s value drops a lot if you’ve got to move him off SS. Oakland has a long-term answer at SS in Nick Allen and he’s going to be the Guy until he proves he can’t be the Guy. I don’t see Oakland spending that much Trade Value on a SS prospect; I think Milwaukee needs to swap in Mitchell or Frelick instead.
Swap Turang, with Frelick, drop Puk from Oakland’s side of the ledger. The A’s can drop Brown to 1B (replacing Olson) and Duran can cover CF until Laureano returns from suspension.
Yeah, I kind of figured that wouldn’t fly. Can’t blame a guy for asking! It’ll be interesting to see if Olson eventually does get traded in the real world. Thanks for your reply.
Seems like a good trade meeting the needs of all 3 teams. Only question here is: Are the A’s satisfied with the prospects?

Grover, I see your point. Do you think if the Brewers add Mitchel, would the A’s possibly add Seth Brown to the trade?
Just to clarify, I meant add Mitchel and take out Turang. Then, would the A’s add Brown along with Puk and Olson?
