I just don’t think Andujar works as the headliner for a blockbuster like this, especially with the Mets. His defense was already pretty bad, and after a significant injury, he might be moving to first base or DH. If he does, his value goes way down. That’s just too much of a risk as the headliner for one of the game’s best starters, especially when the Mets are pretty full on the infield as is.
We’ve already adjusted his value down a couple times, so I’m curious why you think it’s still high. We know he’ll likely end up as a 1B/DH, so we’ve accounted for that, and given his bat, young age, and years of control ahead of him, there’s still plenty of offensive upside at a low cost once he comes back.
