Good proposal. I think both teams would consider this trade as possible. I don’t follow the Orioles so I wasn’t familiar with the players being traded to Milwaukee but I was pleasantly surprised when I checked them out on Baseball Reference. In return the Orioles get 2 good Brewer prospects and a catcher that improved defensively but had a bad season at the plate. I would think a good rebound candidate.
Dont know if youre a brewers fan – but both Mountcastle and Santander had stand out years at the plate and both show massive potential. The Crew would have to give up alot to retain these talents but desperately need depth in a lackluster lineup. Mountcastle and Santander would make them a force to be reckoned with.
On the flip side – The orioles would be asking for a bulky return, I think 2 of the Brewers top prospects would have to be in the mix, and a catcher in Narvaez who has shown he can do wonders at the dish and maybe just needs a change of scenery to break out as the player he seems to be capable of being. I don’t necessarily see why the Orioles need to make this move, but I think long term it would greatly benefit them considering they are far from contention in a packed AL East
Agreed! It’s always a good trade proposal when both teams benefit. The 2 prospects that Baltimore would get in this trade are highly prized by the Brewers but are probably still a year away. The Brewers have a chance in the NL Central and the 2 players from Baltimore would presumably give them immediate help. Hopefully a good trade for both teams. Thanks for your response.
